The activity of aerobiological monitoring in Parma has started with the Prof. Pierpaolo Dall’Aglio, at present Director of U.O. Clinical and Immunological Medicine, in 1980 and it makes part of the network coordinated by the Italian Association of Aerobiology (AIA), from 1985. The location of the survey station is remained the same over the years. The collected data are used for the prevention, the diagnosis, the management of the pharmacology therapy and for the immunotherapy of the patients with pollenosis. The monitoring of pollens by Burkard or Lanzoni pollen trap was performed in accordance with standard methods of the Italian Aerobiology Association (AIA), now also recognised as: UNI 11108/2004. Our U.O. has an important outpatients clinic, provincial point of reference for the allergies, that every year sees approximately 1600 patients.
